The Madras Music Academy is not going to budge … now that it has the fulsome public support (in the press and on Twitter) of K Veeramani of DK, Kanimozhi of DMK , N Ram (closet-member of the CPM) and from the rest of their tribe .
What is the point in all we rasikas just continuing to engage in wasted புலம்பல் “polembal”?! It’s all sound and fury signifying nothing … Moral Indignation and fulmination is all fine and exciting but does it fetch anything substantial or productive?
In the last few days I have been following all the noise and frenzied rhetoric on social and mainstream media and I’m disappointed I haven’t come across any viable and offensive strategy being talked about by irate rasikas on how to bring pressure on MA to reverse its decision. They have no imagination or clue on how to mount a credible counter campaign. They are smugly satisfied that K. Annamalai, the rising star of the BJP has Twittered his support to them. They all think simply creating digital din and dust will by itself make Mr. N. Murali bow to public pressure and opinion. He has already said categorically “no way”. He has said to the Deccan Herald yesterday that the Music Academy will not change mind … and so “end of story” .
The situation is very clear now. MA will not budge . TMK will get his Sangitha Kalanidhi. The Dravidian forces in Tamil Nadu have already won an important, extremely satisfying moral victory again over Sanatana Dharma in Tamil Nadu …. and that too on the eve of a general election. And the rasikas worldwide have had their few days of fun and frolic, theatrics and entertainment on social media . What else is left to be done now ?
Precious little . So, let’s please just all go home now . The party is over . All that’s left to be done now is to prepare for “Subha sweekaaram” day in December 2024 season when the Sadas will be held for “karnaataka sangeetham” at the Academy and TM Krishna will be coronated Sangitha Kalanidhi. And his magnificent portrait will soon then be hung in the Academy foyer alongside other great Kalanidhis on the walls of the Hall of Fame.
You know what ? Tambrahms are all just a bunch of losers .
